Apple is one of the most popular and known brands, as it has a great tradition in the software and hardware industry. Almost everybody is familiar with the Apple iPhone and iPad devices, which are used by millions and millions of people. In order to transfer media items, like videos, music or photos to and from these devices, you need to install a specialized application called iTunes. This Apple software allows you to easily transfer media files from and to any Apple media device and can also act as a fully featured media player.

Before the actual program installation, QuickTime is automatically installed to ensure full support for every media format. After the program has been installed and launched, it offers the user the possibility of scanning his entire hard disk for media files. After the scanning process is complete, the user will be able to view all his video and audio files in the main program interface and will be able to easily organize and manage his media file collection by using various criteria.

For example, when it comes to audio files, one can display them according to individual songs, albums, artists, genres or he can create playlists with his favorite music. The program also allows you to listen to a large number of online radio stations directly from its interface. For making it easier to find a desired radio station, all of them are organized in several categories, according to their genre.

iTunes also allows you to watch home videos directly from its interface or buy fully length videos from the iTunes store. From this store, the user can also download complete music albums. Still, this requires a credit card or a PayPal account. Another interesting feature included in iTunes is Home Sharing, which allows you to share and access any media content through your home network, by using your Apple ID and password.

Pros

It can automatically detect media files located in your computer and add them to the library. What's more, it includes a large number of radio streams which are all organized in several categories. Furthermore, you can buy full length videos and music albums directly from the iTunes store.

Cons

The number of supported media formats is a bit limited. Using iTunes you can easily organize and manage your music libraries and also transfer media files to your Apple devices.
